Polignano a Mare
An must-see city in Puglia, a beautiful resort town perched on the cliff edge overhanging the sparkling Adriatic Sea with astonishing caves in the cliffs under the town. You can enjoy a postcard-view of this wonderful coastal town just from the impressive Roman bridge, Ponte Lama Monachile.

All you have to do is take your camera, pick one point along this bridge and get the best shots ever! Then take a stroll through the picturesque old town and walk along the small, winding, cobbled roads, lined with houses painted in white, tastefully decorated with fresh, coloured flowers.

Keep your eyes peeled for the graffiti which are to be found on almost every street! You will find the best quotes from some of the world's most famous writers painted on the walls or stone steps! Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy stunning views of the deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea from the three panoramic terraces!

And whilst you're walking around the town and waterfront don't miss the wide promenade with a statue dedicated Domenico Modugno, the famous singer celebrated worldwide for singing "Volare"! Go to Polignano a Mare once, and it will be love at first sight!

In Polignano, do not miss:
  • The sea caves and grottos under the town, among which worth visiting is Grotta Palazzese, today housing a charming restaurant for experiencing first-class and unique dining;
  • The wide promenade with the statue of the singer Domenico Modugno; behind it, a long flight of steps goes up to a large flat surface of rock that provides a panoramic view of the wonderful cliff of Polignano and its caves.
  • Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II (the old town piazza) with the Clock Square;
  • The 13th century main church or Chiesa Matrice.
